# What is MindLab?

MindLab is not a single model. It’s a governed operating system built on four pillars — unified under a control plane that enforces policy, memory, and audit across every workflow.

1. **Orchestrator:** The Orchestrator plans work as DAGs, selects Capsules, allocates resources, verifies outputs, and keeps humans in the loop.
2. **Marketplace:** An ecosystem of Capsules — outcome‑specific, governed workflows that ship results.
3. **Work IDE:** A no‑code studio that turns domain expertise into productized Capsules.
4. **Proving Ground + Context Spine:** Continuous test/eval, red‑teaming, and a knowledge backbone for reliable, economical context.

This architecture is a direct, enterprise-grade implementation of the proven **Switch Transformer** paradigm—a simplified, scalable, and massively efficient version of the Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model. The Orchestrator acts as the intelligent **gating network**, routing complex tasks to a marketplace of specialized agents.

By delegating work to fine-tuned specialists, we ensure that every task is handled by an agent optimized for that specific domain, providing a level of reliability and performance that monolithic models cannot achieve.
